A Faculty Development Programme on “Innovative Teaching Techniques for 21st century Learners” by Dr. K. Alex, Associate Professor, St. Joseph's College, Trichy and Dr. Anita Priya Raja, Associate Professor, Gnanam School of Business, Thanjavur was conducted at Gnanam School of Business on 25th October 2013 for the faculties from various institutions between 9 AM and 4 PM. Faculties from other colleges of Trichy and Thanjavur like Jamal Mohamed College, Sri Pushpam College, Kundavai Nachiyar Govt. Arts College, Adaikala Matha College, Raja Serafoji College etc. took part in the session. The resource persons explained the steps to enhance the academic and intellectual environment in the institutions by providing faculty members with enough opportunities to understand students mentality, their learning styles, problem solving techniques and pursue academic researches. Faculties were also encouraged to participate in seminars / conferences / workshops. Participants provided a feedback that participation in such programmes would enable faculty members to update their research and pedagogical skills and appreciated GSB for being one such initiative.
