Release of Placement Brochure for the Batch 2012-14

Gnanam School of Business (GSB) released its Placement Brochure for the batch 2012-14 on 10 September 2013. Prayukthi Divas, the event marking the release of Placement Brochure was presided over by Rev. Dr. Casmir Raj SJ, Chairman, Governing Council of GSB, Thanjavur and Founder, LIBA, Chennai.

The chief guest of the occasion was Mr. Devi Prasad Rao, MD & CEO of Arohana Dairy Pvt.,Ltd., who was then felicitated by Rev. Dr. Casmir Raj SJ. The presidential address by Rev. Dr. Casmir Raj encouraged the students when he emphasized on following three fundamentals: Knowledge, Strong Value System and Spiritual well-being and intelligence in both their career and life. He had also drawn attention to strong value systems such as integrity, accountability and leadership which would be the system of any successful organization in the future.

The chief guest Mr. Rao, released the Placement Brochure of the batch 2012-14 and Rev. Dr. Casmiri Raj received the first copy of the same. The subsequent copies were received by the Chairman, Mr. S. P. Selvaraj and the CEO Mr. S.P.S. Aruldoss of GSB. The placement Brochure will be an entrance to the corporate life for the budding managers of GSB and will indeed help them to be identified in the corporate world with their talents emblazoned on it.

The chief guest Mr. Rao shared his life experience and emphasized the current scenario of job market which had inspired the students of GSB to stand upright and march towards their career objectives.

As a part of the event GSB organized a power talk on the topic, “Recruitment in Industry Workforce 2013”. The resource person of the session was Mr.Vasanth Davis, Career Consultant, Head- Intl Sales & Mar-comm. at Vaspar Eco Solutions Pvt. Ltd, Bangalore.

He discussed the buyers and the sellers’ market where the latter is prevailing at present.

The speaker revealed the acquisition trends of employees prevailing in the industry. One of the trends was 360 degree approach where employers look in to the interpersonal skills, Leadership skills, Teamwork and the academic knowledge as well. The different opportunities in the various streams of industries would be a greater market for the freshers.

He also reiterated that the employers are hiring employees from diversified cultures which set the evaluation criteria for the in-house candidates at the higher position. This helped the GSB students to shape their skills and thoughts according to the Market Requirements.

Finally, Prayukthi Divas, the event marking the release of the Placement Brochure was concluded with generous applause to the chief guest, the speaker and the special invitees.
